I've been slacking, again. A long ass weekend got me out of the groove, and it got me sick.
So I missed workouts since last wednesday, although I did ski 4 days between then and now so I wasn't a complete waste. I'm feeling a lot better today so I'm going to get a workout of some kind in tonight. I don't know what it will be or what I'll work on, I need to figure that out.
I feel like getting back onto .com could be really good for me, doubling up with olympic lift workouts twice a week. I think the variety will be greater and I will be forced to work on weaknesses and I should get into more broad time domains. I think this is what I will do for the last 60 days before the New England sectional on March 20.
I'm open to suggestions. I am nervous about leaving this strength focus behind, so I may need to keep that going along with the .com workouts and give myself more (and better) rest as that 60 period draws to a close.
That could be close to over training, but buckling down on recovery (proper food intake, stretching, rolling) and rest (taking rest days, proper sleep) I think my body can handle it.
heavy metcon tonight
5 rds for time:
5 185# anyway overhead
10 burpees
8:58
I just checked and on 12/8/08 I did this workout in 15:10. I improved by just over 6 minutes, so that is a plus. I'd like to try this one again (or something else like it with heavy overhead weight) soon...
meals today weren't great, which is something that needs to change as I'm getting into the homestretch here. I'm not going to go nuts and try to get on the zone because it's just too much and I don't want to be skinny again. I was 175 at one point not long ago, and I tipped the scale at a solid 196 yesterday when leaving the gym. Somewhere around 190 is going to be my fighting weight I think....
